2017 Q3—NYSERDA 76West Clean Energy Competition—FINALIST

Aug 18, 2017

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) sponsored a Clean Energy competition focused on leveraging manufacturing resources in the NYS Southern Tier.

MicroEra Power beat out hundreds of teams, and was supported as a Semi-Finalist to conduct extensive business development in the Southern Tier, which does hold significant promise as a manufacturing site in close proximity to New York City, where our CHPplus systems add significant value of energy resiliency and peak demand management.

The only company with a female founder pitching, MicroEra Power was a FINALIST, but not an awardee in the 2017 competition.

Competition Description: A panel of judges will award $2.5 million in prize money, based on:

1.Clean Energy Impact-Furtherance of the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, promotion of the use of renewable energy resources, or promotion of energy efficiency

2.Customer Value-Provision of significant value for customers for which they are willing to pay

3.Business Model Viability-Generation of revenue and maintenance of a cost structure that allows for a competitive and sustainable business

4.Technical Viability-Demonstrated readiness of the applicant’s technology or innovation to provide desired energy impacts and customer value in its target markets

5.Southern Tier Job Creation-Potential for creation of high quality jobs in the Southern Tier, directly or indirectly, with secondary consideration given to NYS jobs

6.Team-Quality and completeness of the team and their readiness to deliver
